Your Opinion Counts

We’re always curious about the folks who read our blog and although we have good

This one is just a screen shot :-)

traffic but comments on bike blogs tend to represent a tiny fraction of the overall readership.  So I have been playing with several Word Press poll plug-ins to find a way to capture more about our readers and their biking habits and opinions.

The PollDaddy plug-in looked promising but you have to pay if you want more than 100 responses per month and their documentation is sorely lacking,  you have to jump through a few hoops to actually create a sidebar widget versus a poll within a post.  So I went with SodaHead Polls.

SodaHead’s documentation is straightforward and the widget piece is built in.  I wanted something in the sidebar and not within a post so I’m happy so far.  You should see the percentage of the voting on the widget itself but if you click the “see votes” link you’re taken to the SodaHead site where the numbers are published.

We’ll be playing with the new poll feature some so be sure to look on the right hand side of the page and let us know more about you.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
