Calling all Dallas cyclists! Let’s give a little back to our community and help clean up the mess that is currently lodged into White Rock Creek.

A massive effort for cleaning up the creek that feeds into White Rock Lake is happening Saturday, September 7th. See the Facebook event for lots of details. This cleanup is going to be a great community effort with support from Friends of the White Rock Creek Trail, For The Love of the Lake, Dallas Parks Dept. “It’s My Park Day”, RioSUP, White Rock Racing and Urban Fabric Photography.

WRC is quite literally clogged with trash, and we need your help. This is a call for small watercraft (kayaks, SUPs, canoes, flat bottoms, etc.), as well as volunteers on land. We’ll be launching a massive effort to collect as much trash as possible, both on land, and in the water.

Volunteers should gather at Olive Shapiro Park, located at Lawther and Goforth on the morning of Sept. 7th, at 8 a.m. We expect to work until noon.

After the cleanup, join Critical Manners East Dallas for a short ride to Monster Yogurt at Casa Linda Plaza. Details for that ride are here.
