The Stop and Photograph the Roses ride May 10th, 11am

Biking in Dallas and Dallas Cycle Style are teaming up to bring you a spring ride with a bike and camera theme.

How many group rides have you attended where you found yourself wanting to pull over to take photos of things you saw along the way, but couldn’t without delaying the ride?  We want to fix that.

So we thought a ride where the purpose is to go slow, with several stops at scenic locations, would be perfect for those who enjoy taking their time and pictures.

The purpose of this ride is to enjoy some of the scenic areas in Downtown and combine photography with exploring Dallas on a bicycle.  Digital, film, pinhole, toy, DSLR, mirrorless, point and click, cell phone, or no camera at all, everyone is welcome.  You just need a bicycle.

Our planned route:

We’ll start at the Dallas Arts District at 11am,  One Arts Plaza at Flora and Routh streets.

We’ll meander through the Arts District on our way to Main Street Garden

Next on the agenda is Belo Garden park.

Then we’re off to the Farmer’s Market where we’ll stop for fuel, water and enjoy the carnival of colors.

Checking out some of the amazing architecture at Fair Park will be our next stop.

Our final destination will be Deep Ellum where we’ll tour some of the street murals and related art, and then to a soon to be announced place for food and drink.

And we’ll have an escorted ride from Deep Ellum back to our starting point.

You can sign up on the Facebook invite page here.

And a big thanks to Bill Chance for helping establish our route!

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
