Thanks for the note... Yep, you're 15 months too late. Keep looking, these are really nice, well built, comfortable "old" bikes. Grab one if you can.
I sold mine for $100.

I just picked up a 1978 SR Gran Coarse 12 speed last month for $20 on CL.A poor description and bad photo lead me to believe I should check it out.The downtube shifters were visible in the pic though! It has the upscale Shimano 600 group and nicer Araya rims but a very heavy hi-ten steel frame.Had to replace the original tires but quite a find for little $$.

I just bought a step thru 20" ladies Campus Sport at a estate sale. It has what appears to be original cruzer handle bars. Bike has been sitting in a garage for years. Tires look like the second set. I put air in the tires and with cob webs flying in the wind went for about 5 miles. The bike is a surprise. I will most likley will clean it up and sell it as its to big for my wife. All these comments have at least helped me figure out what it is. Jim Sacramento CA

a couple of years ago, I was looking for a nice vintage race bike and I came across an SR ProAm with an opening bid of $60. the photos looked great and the description said that it had been purchased in San Diego in the early 80's for around $500. I put down $60 and a week later, I was surprised that I had won the bike! I thought perhaps I had been taken for a ride and possibly was about to be the new owner of a piece of junk. Well, the bike arrived a week later, and to my surprise, the bike was in new-like condition. The geometry was different than what I had expected, but the bike fit me just right (i'm 6'2) anyways, I cleaned it up and off I went for a 20 mile ride. Wow! what a smooth bike! Couldn't believe how well all the gears worked. Curious, I started searching the net to see what I could find, and just like everyone above, not much information was found. There is one guy who bought one and found the original shop who sold them back in the 80's, and told him that they were assembled in Mexico by a couple of racing enthusiasts brothers (Hernandez) who distributed them into the U.S. at a significantly lower price than similarly quality branded-bikes. I'll end by saying that these bikes are equivalent to Ferrari making cars using the same parts and not putting their brand. I'm sure that if you put Cinnelli or LeMond, they would sell for 3 times more. Enjoy these great finds and consider yourselves lucky that more people aren't on to them just yet!

I bought an SR Semi Pro. Same color. I just had to replace the tires and clean off the wheels. Got it at a Swap Meet for $60. The seller sold tires and had this sitting there with loose brake cables and shredded tires. I spent just $40 for new tires, cables and brakes and I've been riding it in marathons and commutes to school. Great bike, light, beautiful and I'm glad I recognized a beauty. The guy couldn't sell it for months so that's why he got rid of it for $60. Glad I found more info here about it!

Back in 1983 or 84 I bought an SR Aline Sport because my sister had the Campus Sport and I loved hers. I rode that bike everywhere back then. It has been in my shed for the past 10 years or so when my husband took it and had it tuned up for me after I told him how much I loved that bike. Surprisingly, it needed very little work. New tires, brake pads but that's it. The owner of the shop said it was still a solid bike. Got it back this past week and took it for a ride, fell in love all over again! Love my SR!!!!
