The 2012 Dallas Tweed Ride has been postponed

Submitted by on November 8, 2012 – 5:42 pm3 Comments

Since the inaugural 2009 event, the Dallas Tweed Ride has become the do-not-miss group bicycle ride in Dallas.  We’ve had a couple hundred participants at some of them and I’m convinced we can compete with any other tweed ride in North America.

Jason Roberts, of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, has lead these rides each year only this year he’s facing some challenges that make it impossible for him to join us.  A Dallas Tweed Ride without Jason Roberts would be like a 6th floor window without a conspiracy theory, it’s just not right.  So the BFOC board decided that instead of having the ride without him, they would instead delay it until Jason is back in the saddle, probably a Brooks or VO saddle that is.  I hear a January/February 2o13 time frame is being considered.  We’ll make an announcement the minute we know more.  Until then cheers and best wishes to our good friend Jason Roberts and his family.

The Roberts clan (minus one)

ps: If you’re Jonesing for some Dallas Tweed action you can see a slide show from the 2009 ride here, or look at the photo gallery from the 2010 ride here, and if that’s not enough drop by here, here, or even here for images from the 2011 Dallas Tweed Ride.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
