Saturday’s “Tour Dallas” Ride

Submitted by on April 5, 2010 – 1:59 am3 Comments

Would you like to know how fun the “Tour Dallas” ride was this Saturday (April 3, 2010)?

Beats me, man.

Eight a.m. on a Saturday? Are you kidding me? Yea, let me head downtown right after I throw my Dallas Morning News paper route.

I actually set my alarm at 6:30 a.m. to see what kind of awful shape I would be in. I rolled over and went back to sleep.

Now, I don’t want to sound like a complainer. But it was a beautiful day early in the spring, so it’s not like it was going to be too hot if we started at 10 a.m. I’ll bet 1,000 more people would have showed up if we had started it at 10 a.m.

Here is what my Tour of Dallas consisted of:

And a quick look around the garden to see what’s blooming (sorry for the blurry image, it was on my iphone). My roses are about to go crazy. This is Mrs. B.R. Kant, an heirloom rose:

Then a trip on my Electrabike to the liquor store for my wife to get her a bottle of wine, and a stop at Winfrey Point to catch the view.

There’s always next year!

hahaha – my thought exactly! Actually, I went to aikido practice, as normal, Saturday morning. Figured my presense wouldn’t make a lot of difference on the bike ride.

I was surprised we didn’t see more bikers when we were out driving around that morning about 10:00. Maybe they were all done…

I was bummed that I was out of town, I really wanted to join this ride. I guess it will be next year for me.
