Bath House and Cultural Center at White Rock Lake

Each year Southwest Frameworks hosts a vintage/classic bike meet and ride at White Rock Lake.  Sadly I did not hear about it in time to add it to our announcements for October, we’ll do better next year.  Southwest Frameworks has been building custom bikes since 1984 (they went by another name previous to 1994).   This was the first year I attended the event and if you like classic bikes this is one not to miss.

It was a gorgeous day at the lake and the conditions were perfect for cycling or attending any kind of an outdoor event.  I brought my son along and he had a great time mostly getting wet in the lake and winning a Bianchi baseball cap in the raffle.

The event took place at the Bath House and Cultural Center at White Rock Lake.  It was sp0nsored by Richardson Bike Mart, Bianchi, Castrelli, Powerbar and Aussie Pet Mobile.   There were gorgeous bikes on hand and my photos do them no justice.  If you missed it then you’ll just have to plan to attend next year.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
