I live in the Casa Linda/Casa View area of northeast Dallas, right by White Rock Lake. I always love to hear the tinkling bells of these ice cream vendors.
These guys never speak a single word of English, but that’s ok, I speak a bit of Spanish. He was very gracious when I asked him if I could take his photo.
I don’t want their “Bomb Pops’”……..I want their Mexican ice cream/fruit bars…..
And so that’s what I got: a Pecan (nueces) bar, a Mango bar, a Coconut bar covered with chocolate, and a Strawberry bar covered with chocolate.
They cost a dollar apiece.

Nice! Most of the paleteros in our neighborhood utilize pushcarts but there are a handful that whizz by on their bikes, bags of chicharrones and cotton candy flapping in the breeze.
His rig is pretty cool!
