Happenings at Northaven Trail
Friend of Northaven Trail have several important updates and invites for you this week.
Trail Clean-up – Saturday, March 31, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
On March 31, we will host a trail clean-up project in conjunction with Dallas Park and Recreation Department’s “It’s My Park Day”. We plan to meet at Dealey Park behind Dealey Montessori on Royal Lane at 9:00 am and then disperse in a few teams to clear brush under several large shade trees along the trail. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to help. Please dress appropriately (bring gloves) and bring yard tools if you have them – no power tools please.
For area high school students, the March 31 event is registered with the City of Dallas and your participation may be recognized by your school for community service hours. Please consult with your school for confirmation.
Northaven Trail Ribbon Cutting – Saturday, April 14, 9:00 am
St. Michael’s respite area on the trail
Please join officials from the City of Dallas as they officially open the Northaven Trail with a public ribbon cutting ceremony. Dallas City Council members Linda Koop and Ann Margolin, Dallas County Commissioner Maurine Dickey, and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings will be in attendance.
Now is the time to reserve a commemorative paver, a mile marker, bench, planting or other trail amenity. Contact Friends of Northaven Trail for pricing and availability.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming events or on the trail!
