Fuel City

One of my favorite taco places in Dallas is inside the insane truck stop on Industrial Blvd. called “Fuel City”.

I know that they have changed the name of “Industrial Blvd.” to “Riverfront Blvd.”, but I’m not ready to make the change just yet.

The place is open 24 hours a day, and it’s right outside downtown, almost under I-30 on Industrial. The place is actually a working cattle ranch, as well, with Longhorn Cattle backing right up to the Trinity River. I should have some pictures of that; next time I’m down there, I’ll take a few and post them. Texas Monthly said that Fuel City had the Best Tacos in the State of Texas several years back. I’m not sure about that, but they are very good.

Anway………..the last time I was down there, I saw this guy’s wacky bike outside:

I like the jaunty angle of those very shiny noodle bars! Spiffy fenders, as well. It was some sort of steel lugged- frame bike, but when I went out to ask the guy about it, he spoke no English. The detail that I really like is his full-size bicycle pump bungeed to the frame.

Next time you’re down at the Dallas County Criminal Courts, the County Jail or just checking in with your bail bondsman, give “Fuel City” a try!

Oh yea: the tacos. These are beef fajita, with everything, on corn. The al pastor are wonderful, too.
