Friends of Northaven Trail
I just discovered the Friends of Northaven Trail are having an Initial Organizational Meeting Tuesday, February 9, 2010 7:30 PM. They’re meeting at Cindi’s Deli on Central Expressway Service Road (west side) between Forest and Royal.
Northaven will be a 9.4 mile, major linear trail and will initially bridge I-45 and the Dallas North Tollway. Phase two will connect the trail to Irving’s Campion Trail to the west. You can read the City of Dallas’ Northaven Master Plan here.

Yet another kick ass trail. North Dallas continues to lead the way in Texas.
Bob, I agree Dallas is setting the pace for the rest of Texas but I don’t think it’s just north Dallas. There are efforts going on in other parts of the county too. I plan to cover what’s in my own back yard first and then head south. I wish I could make the meeting tonight but I have family commitments. Maybe we can get an update from someone who attends.
