I just got a note from the powers that be and the Dallas Rides Photo Contest deadline has been moved to Friday the 18th!  So do what I did and send them some of your best biking photos.  Do I think I’ll win the photo contest, well hell no, I can barely spell c-a-m-e-r-a but it’s a way to share some of your bike love.  So if you have any cool pictures of biking around town submit them pronto!  And drop by their site and check out some of the sneak peak photos they are publishing already.

This makes two photo contests going on in Dallas, Texas right now.  Only this one is specific to bicycles.  From the (sounds like metropolis) website:

It’s time to grab your camera, and find some bikes, and get ready for our “Dallas Rides” Photo Contest. We’re teaming up with BFOC and are looking for images that capture our city’s growing bike culture and the people and bicycles in it. Whether you know people who commute to work, or you have some wonderful shots from a casual group ride, we would love to see them submitted.

More about

is a team of photography enthusiasts, camera gangsters & photo nerds. We are fine art photographers, photojournalists, commercial photographers and weekend drive-by shooters. But the common thread between us is that we love the stuffins out of photography. wants to keep you up to date on local shutterbug events, happenings and stories, photo field trips, the latest scoop on new camera gear and product reviews, and snapshot project ideas; focusing on the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and beyond.

If you like taking photos you’ll love their blog.  So scoot over to their website and read all the details.  Then fire up your Sony and start snapping photos.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
