UPDATE – Bike Friendly Oak Cliff – Love Your Lane | Valentine’s Day Ride Feb 14th
Feb 11th Update
Depending on which forecast you read, temperatures are predicted in the 40s-50s on Sunday, but we should see mostly sunshine. A good coat, warm socks and a hat or scarf should be sufficient. Bring a pair of gloves just in case.
Also, the route has been published and as you can see there are several DART light rail stations nearby, if you take the train you can use the Pearl or St Paul stations to get to the event. Click on the graphic to see the actual Google map.
Our friends at BFOC are at it again and this group ride looks like one not to miss. They’re calling it the Love Your Lane | Valentine’s Day Ride. If you’ve never heard of Bike Friendly Oak Cliff now would be a good time to come out from under your rock. If you’ve never joined one of their group rides this is a perfect opportunity for you to redeem yourself.
From their site:
Show some love by dressing up (cupid, cherub, love bug, a kissing booth, exactly like your partner, your definition of love, Queen of Hearts, a Care Bear, blah, blah, blah, etc.) and decorating your bike. This is encouraged but NOT REQUIRED to ride. It may be chilly so be prepared to bundle up.
They’re planning to meet up at Main Street Garden Park at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14th. The route will meander through downtown, Turtle Creek and Cedar Springs. Looks like the watering hole for this event will be the Ginger Man.
I just need to pick out a cherub costume and I’ll be good to go.
