Tour de France 2011 Etape 13

"THORRRR!!" by Rob Ijbema via Painting le

So today’s stage of the Tour de France (stage 14 – Saint-Gaudens  Plateau de Beille) may have been the most exciting of all.  The last 20 miles or so was a series of attacks, mostly lead by Andy Schleck who continues to keep his lead over Alberto Contador.  Thomas Voeckler managed to hang on to the yellow jersey for another day and guys like Ivan Basso and Cadel Evans continue to assert themselves.  This was a great mountain stage.

Be sure to drop by Painting le Tour to see more of Dutch painter Rob Ijbema’s work.  Rob lives in Wales UK and paints (and sells) spectacular portraits of the tour each year.  And if you want to yammer online with other Tour-o-philes drop by Bike and jump in the many discussions.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
