National Bike Summit 2010

A crowd of almost 1000 people descended upon Washington D.C. for the 2010 National Bike Summit this last March 9-11th.   According to the League of American Bicyclists, which hosted the event, that was 10 times the crowd they had at the inaugural meeting a decade ago.  A PDF file of the agenda can be found here and it’s well worth downloading and reading in full.  It provides a nice snapshot of what subjects advocates are talking about on a national level.

Streetfilms has produced this video that showcases some of the voices and opinions of those who attended.  You can read more from their site here.

Chris started riding a bike again when he noticed the Preston Ridge Trail being constructed across the street from his house. Since then he co-founded Biking in Dallas, has gone through countless Craigslist bike projects (some better than others) and can be found pedaling around town on a Electra Ticino with a camera in tow.
